EPA Employees Honored for Outstanding Work

PHILADELPHIA -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has presented awards to four scientists from Annapolis, Md.

Thomas DeMoss received a bronze medal for directing a team responsible for developing new, innovative assessment techniques to integrate environmental data.  DeMoss has worked for the EPA for 23 years.

Richard Batiuk, Lewis Linker and Gary Shenk were recognized for their work on the Chesapeake Bay modeling team.  Batik is an associate director of science, and has worked at EPA for 14 years.  Linker and Shenk are both environmental scientists. Lewis Linker has worked for the EPA for 12 years and Gary Shenk for three years.  

The three were each presented with an EPA science achievement award, recognizing their contributions for improving local community involvement in environmental issues in the Chesapeake Bay area.
