MEDIA ADVISORY: EPA to Recognize the Importance of Clean Water at the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station in Navarre Beach, FL

ATLANTA - On Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regional Water Division Director Jim Giattina is traveling to Navarre Beach to recognize the importance of clean water at the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station (NBMSS). Mr. Giattina will tour and participate at a variety of water quality activity stations, meet with students studying environmental science and discuss how EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers are strengthening protections for clean water. Mr. Giattina will be joined by District 4 Santa Rosa County Commissioner Jim Melvin and Santa Rosa School Superintendent, Tim Wyrosdick. The activity stations will be led by students and EPA 2014 Presidential Innovative Award for Environmental Educators (PIAEE) Award recipient and NBMSS Director Charlene Mauro, a teacher at Navarre High School.
