(CHICAGO - Sept. 15, 2009) U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 has reached an agreement with Wisconsin Plating Works of Racine in Racine, Wis., to settle alleged hazardous waste violations. A $9,000 penalty has been paid.

Wisconsin Plating Works was cited for violating Resource Conservation and Recovery Act requirements for managing hazardous waste at its facility at 931 Carroll St., including failure to appropriately label containers, remove waste from the site within 180 days, conduct weekly inspections and close a container.
