BOSTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will be holding an information meeting Thursday, Apr. 28th at 7:00 pm to discuss the Multiple Source Groundwater Response Plan Remedial Investigation for the Industri-Plex Superfund Site and the Aberjona River Study Area. The meeting will be at the Malcolm White Elementary School located at 36 Bow Street in Woburn, MA.

More than 4,800 samples of groundwater, sediment, surface water and soil were evaluated in the study which assesses the nature and extent of contamination at the 245-acre Industri-Plex site and the Aberjona River Study Area including the river and its flood plan from I-95 in Woburn to the Mystic Lakes in Winchester.

Risks were primarily found in groundwater from the Industri-Plex Superfund Site, sediments and surface water in the Hall Brook Holding Area Pond adjacent to the Industri-Plex Site which receives groundwater contamination from the Site, and a few sediment areas further downstream in the Wells G&H wetland and Cranberry Bog Conservation Area.

At the meeting, EPA will discuss the findings of the investigation and the next steps at the site.
