Kids to Learn the Signs of Environmental Crime

(Washington, D.C. - April 16, 2007) During National Environmental Crime Prevention Week, criminal investigators from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will visit a Bethesda, Md., school to help students understand more about how EPA fights environmental crimes. EPA's special agents will show kids how agents identify and investigate environmental crimes. Students will get a chance to collect "evidence" by taking fingerprints, sketching a crime scene and trying on protective gear at a mock crime scene set up at the school.


Who: Special Agents Greg Horvath and Chris Smith, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

What: Hands on demonstration of environmental investigation techniques.

Where: St. Jane de Chantal School, 9525 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, Md.

When: April 17, 2007 from 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
