PHILADELPHIA – More than 200 participants from around the nation will converge at the Holiday Inn on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City for the fourth annual Wetlands Regulatory Workshop, beginning Tuesday, October 30.

The annual workshop is held to foster partnerships to preserve wetlands by discussing emerging policy and other aspects of wetland protection. The 2001 workshop focuses on key issues in protecting wetlands, including wetlands monitoring, mitigation and isolated wetlands. The three and a half-day conference is hosted by the Wetlands Regulatory Workgroup, a national coalition of federal, state and local regulators, industry, environmental organizations, and academics.

Wetlands, found in every state in the nation, are a critical and productive natural resource, helping to improve water quality, reduce flood and storm damage, and providing important fish and wildlife habitat.

All workshop sessions are open to the public. Registration will be held from
7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day of the event. For more information on registration and the workshop contact the Holiday Inn at 1-800-548-3030.
