CHICAGO (Jan. 25, 2008) - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 will update Twin Cities media on its chemical vapor study in St. Louis Park, Minn., Monday, Jan. 28, 10:30 a.m. to noon, at the St. Louis Park Municipal Service Center, 3752 Wooddale Ave.

The briefing will take place in front of EPA's TAGA bus (Trace Atmospheric Gas Analyzer), a specialized mobile air quality laboratory that will arrive in St. Louis Park by Monday morning. EPA technicians will be available to answer questions about the laboratory, which was also used to assess contaminants at the World Trade Center and Hurricane Katrina cleanups. State and local partner agency officials are expected to be on hand.

EPA is investigating the discovery of vapors from volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, in area ground water near the intersection of Highway 7 and Wooddale Avenue. A map of the study area is at http://www.stlouispark.org.
