Administrator Whitman Joins the Navy League in Groundbreaking for First Green Building in Arlington County

(04/11/03) On Monday, April 14, at 10:00 a.m., EPA Administrator Whitman will join Timothy O. Fanning, National President, Navy League of the United States* at the groundbreaking ceremony of their new headquarters building. The ceremony will take place at 2300 Wilson Boulevard, in Arlington, Virginia. This 214,000 square foot building is the first building to be approved for construction by Arlington County as a “green building” and the first to be designated as such by the U.S. Green Building Council. The Council is the nation's foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.
