Attached is a speech given today to the 15th Annual Superfund Conference of the Hazardous Materials Resources Institute by EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner that summarizes Superfund achievements in protecting public health and community environments during fiscal year 1994. Browner noted in her remarks that four times the number of cleanups were completed in the last three years than in the entire first decade of the Superfund program. In l991, 63 cleanups had been completed; in l994, a total of 278 cleanups had been completed.
