STAKEHOLDER MEETING ON LABELING OF RODENT CONTROL PRODUCTS; SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT ON THEIR ECOLOGICAL RISKS OCT. 18-19

As part of its review of pesticide products used to control rodents, EPA is conducting a stakeholder meeting Oct. 18, and a public workshop Oct. 19. The purpose of the stakeholder meeting is to discuss potential regulatory changes that the Agency is considering to rodent control products. These options have been developed through the Rodenticide Stakeholder Workgroup, which EPA established to explore and recommend ways to reduce the risk of exposure to rodenticide products, especially accidental exposures involving young children. The workshop on Oct. 19 is being held to obtain information on the ecological risks of rodenticides. Specifically, the workshop will provide the public an opportunity to give oral or written statements on the risks of rodenticides to birds, mammals and other wildlife, including anecdotal information about secondary poisonings and other wildlife incidents. Both the stakeholder meeting and the public workshop are being held at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Conference Center, 4301 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, Va. (703-907-5500). The stakeholder meeting on Oct. 18 starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. The public workshop on Oct. 19 is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For additional information, see https://www.epa.gov/pesticides/ppdc/rodent.
