WHITMAN PRAISES WASTEWISE PROGRAM PARTNER AWARDEES

On the occasion of the presentation of annual Wastewise Partner Awards, EPA Administrator Christie Whitman praised the significant environmental contribution of 19 WasteWise programs. The companies, educational institutions, county and state operations and non-profit organizations which received the awards were praised for exceptional waste prevention achievements, innovative recycling, and the use and manufacture of recycled-content products. The awards were received by Evelyn Hill Inc., Seydel Companies, Guardian Industries, Constellation Energy Group, Pitney Bowes, Public Service Enterprise Group, Eastman Kodak, General Motors, Verizon, Sandria National Laboratories, U.S. Postal Service/Alabama, Washoe County, Nev., the State of Ohio, Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, Seattle University, Los Angeles Unified School District and South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.
