PHILADELPHIA – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s mid-Atlantic region presented its Equal Employment Opportunity Award to Janet Kremer, a former resident of President Lakes, near Browns Mills, N.J.

Kremer, an environmental engineer in the region’s Air Protection Division, was honored because she has made significant contributions in promoting equal opportunity in EPA’s mid-Atlantic region.

“She has demonstrated effective leadership skill, imagination, and perseverance in extending equal opportunities to all employees,” said last year’s winner, Mike Frankel, who made the announcement during the region’s May 11 employee recognition ceremony.

Kremer is the manager of the Federal Women’s Special Emphasis Program. The purpose of special emphasis programs is to ensure equal opportunity in hiring, advancement, training, and treatment of women and minorities.

Kremer is a 1991 graduate of Pemberton Township High School and has been with EPA for 11 years.

EPA’s mid-Atlantic region covers Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
