Today, Monday: EPA hosts (telephone only) government press briefing on ongoing Enbridge oil spill response

(MARSHALL, Mich. - Aug 16, 2010) On behalf of the Unified Command, EPA officials, along with federal, state and county representatives will hold a media briefing - BY CONFERENCE CALL ONLY - regarding the ongoing response to the Enbridge oil spill in Michigan's Kalamazoo River. EPA has the role of Federal On-Scene Coordinator for this incident.

The CONFERENCE CALL Briefing will take place at 3:00 PM EDT.

Officials with Enbridge will separately brief the media immediately following the government briefing ON THE SAME CONFERENCE LINE.

REMINDER - EPA will be holding a public meeting on August 19 at the Expo Center, Kalamazoo County Fair Grounds. Briefing will be provided by EPA, other federal, state, and local agencies. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. with an open house followed by presentations at 7:00 p.m.
