New England Environmental Challenges 2001 Report Released by EPA

BOSTON -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's New England office today announced the release of its annual State of the New England Environment report, available in print and on its web site, www.epa.gov/region1.

This year's report, titled New England Environmental Challenges 2001, highlights 13 environmental challenges facing New England and how EPA is building partnerships to address them. The issues range from urban decay and childhood lead poisoning to contaminated drinking water and global warming, and are told through the eyes of individuals who are living these problems first-hand and are battling them with EPA's support.

The report is available for viewing on EPA New England's web site, www.epa.gov/region1. Printed copies can be requested from the web site, or through EPA New England's customer call center: 888-372-7341.
