SAN FRANCISCO -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently fined ClearWater Tech, LLC $4,400 for allegedly failing to register the San Luis Obispo, Calif. facility with the EPA prior to production of a pesticide device.

The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act requires all pesticide and pesticide device producers to register their operation with the EPA so products can be tracked to the companies that produce them.

ClearWater Tech produces large ultra-violet light air purifier systems that kill micro organisms. The company corrected the violation and is now legally registered to produce the devices.

EPA discovered the violation after the company submitted reports to the agency indicating the facility was producing the devices.
