EPA'S OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ISSUES NEW PUBLICATION

"Guide to Septage Treatment and Disposal," a new EPA publication, is available from the Center for Environmental Research Information in EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD). The guide presents practical information on equipment, procedures, and other technical aspects of handling, treating, and disposing of residental septage (waste pumped from septic tanks). The information is designed for administrators of waste management programs, septage haulers, and managers or operators of septage handling facilities.
