Unified Command to Hold Public Meeting Concerning CSXT Train Derailment in Brooks, Kentucky

(ATLANTA – January 30, 2007) Officials in the Unified Command that includes EPA, CSX Transportation (CSXT), and the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection (KDEP) announced today that a public meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 regarding the CSX Train Derailment in Brooks, Ky. The public meeting will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the North Bullitt High School Gym, 3200 E. Hebron Lane, Shepherdsville, Ky. 40165.

Representatives from EPA, CSXT, KDEP, and the Bullitt County Health Department will be available to provide information, answer questions, and address citizen concerns about the response action underway at the derailment site.

A media availability session will be held prior to the public meeting to allow officials to answer questions from the media. The media session is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at the Zoneton Fire District Station 1, 5328 N. Preston Hwy., Shepherdsville, Ky. 40165.
