EPA Emergency Response assists in Space Shuttle Columbia debris recovery

                WHAT EPA emergency responders who just returned from the Space Shuttle Columbia recovery effort will be available to discuss their work in Texas over the past three weeks.

                WHEN Thursday, February 27 from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

                WHERE EPA=s Conference Center, 999 18th Street, 2nd floor, Denver, Colorado

                WHY Because of EPA=s emergency response capabilities, NASA tapped EPA to lead shuttle debris recovery teams. On-scene coordinators and emergency response contractors from all of EPA=s 10 Regions participated in the debris recovery effort. Seven Region 8 on-scene coordinators participated in the first wave of the recovery. Additional emergency responders have replaced the first shift.

                NOTE: Following an initial background presentation, Region 8 On-Scene Coordinators will be available to answer questions.
