(07/07/03) Jeff Holmstead, EPA Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation, will host a live online discussion on the White House Web site www.whitehouse.gov/ask highlighting the proposed Clear Skies Act of 2003.

“The President’s Clear Skies Act of 2003 is a proposal that would protect the American public by substantially reducing the three most harmful pollutants emitted from power plants,” said Jeff Holmstead, Assistant Administrator for the Office of Air and Radiation. “What the Clear Skies Act does is take our very best tool—the cap-and-trade approach—and applies it to our most pressing air quality problem—emissions from power plants. The timing for this legislation could not be better.”

The 30 minute online discussion will take place Tuesday, July 8 from 11:00-11:30 a.m. EDT. Everyone will be able to view Assistant Administrator Holmstead’s responses on: www.whitehouse.gov/ask
