CHICAGO (Dec. 4, 2006) - Green Bay area media are invited to discuss the proposed modification to the Fox River cleanup plan with environmental officials before the Dec. 5 public meeting at the Brown County Library, 515 Pine St.

The media availability with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources staff will be 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The public meeting begins at 7 p.m.

A comment period on the proposed cleanup plan modification ends Jan. 11, 2007. The proposed plan builds on the current plan for Fox River operable units 2 - 5 (Appleton to Green Bay), taking advantage of the benefits of both dredging and capping to minimize further PCB-contamination impacts on the river system.
