EPA TO HOLD OPEN HOUSE REGARDING CONSTRUCTION AT THE STAUFFER CHEMICAL SITE IN TARPON SPRINGS FL

(TARPON SPRINGS, FL – March 19, 2010) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold an open house at the Tarpon Springs Public Library Community Meeting Room, 138 East Lemon Street in Tarpon Springs, Fla. on Thursday, March 25, 2010 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The purpose of the open house is to discuss the upcoming construction of the soil remedy at the Stauffer Chemical Site on Anclote Road in Tarpon Springs. The public is encouraged to drop by the library to meet the representatives from EPA and their contractor, Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp., as well as the contractors who will perform the work, O’Brien & Gere and Envirocon. Construction is expected to begin in April 2010.
