Celebrating Children’s Health Month at Samuel M. Inman Middle School in Atlanta

(Atlanta, Ga. – Oct. 7, 2008) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 4 will hold its 8th Annual National Children’s Health Month ceremony at Samuel M. Inman Middle School on Wednesday, October 8, 2008. The theme for this year’s observance is “Youth Creating a New Climate for Action.” The focus of this year’s observance will emphasize the importance of understanding the potential impacts of climate change on children’s health.

During this event, EPA and partners will host student rotations to activity stations that are designed to teach the effect of environmental health hazards on children. Activities stations will include: sessions on asthma "triggers"; auto emissions; climate change; energy usage; lead base paint hazards; recycling and sun safety.
