FEDERAL OFFICIALS ANNOUNCE NEW TOOLS TO ACCESS
FEDERAL REMEDIATION PROJECTS

At the Federal Facilities Compliance Conference on Nov. 5, federal agency representatives will describe major advancements to collect and distribute cost and performance data on federal remediation projects. On Thursday, Nov. 5 there will a combined trade press and technical session from 10:30 to noon at the Sheraton City Centre, 1143 New Hampshire Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C. Walt Kovalick, Director of EPA’s Technology Innovation Office will chair the opening panel that features: Col. James Dries, Director of Environmental Programs, Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management, U.S. Army; James Wright, Director of Environmental Programs, Naval Facilities Engineering Command; Lt. Col. Ray Knight, Chief, Environmental Restoration Branch, U.S. Air Force Headquarters; and James Fiore, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of Environmental Restoration, Department of Energy. Officials will announce new remediation technologies for contaminated soil and groundwater and discuss 84 new case studies of these technologies. A revised guide for gathering cost and performance data from 13 in-situ technologies will be made available. Also the Federal Remediation Technologies Roundtable will showcase the new search engine at its website: www.frtr.gov to search for data on over 130 case studies will showcased.
