EPA Seeks Public Comments on Housatonic River Human Health Risk Assessment

Boston - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking public comment on the Human Health Risk Assessment for the General Electric / Housatonic River Site, Rest of River. Comments will be made to the peer review panel on November 18 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The peer review panel will meet from Tuesday, November 18 through Thursday, November 20, 2003, 9:00-5:00 each day, at the Cranwell Inn, 55 Lee Rd. in Lenox, Massachusetts to discuss questions posed in its Charge. Public comment will be heard only on Tuesday although citizens may attend and observe the panel discussions throughout the three-day session.

To make comments, citizen must register by November 11, 2003. Registration can be completed by any of the following means:

Please include your contact information. Space is limited, and only those who register by November 11th will be allowed to make comments at the meeting. An equal amount of time will be allotted for each entity commenting and panel members will have an opportunity to ask questions of the commenters. All those who have registered will be notified by either phone or email.

The HHRA, and related documents including a list of the Panel Members and public comments on the HHRA received during the comment period are available on the EPA's web site at https://www.epa.gov/region1/ge.

EPA will consider the comments from the peer review panel members and prepare a written response to these comments prior to finalizing the HHRA.
