EPA ADDS 15 SITES AND PROPOSES 11 SITES TO NPL


The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is adding 15 final sites and proposing to add 11 sites to the National Priorities List (NPL). The primary purpose of the NPL is to guide EPA in determining which sites warrant further investigation. Currently there are a total of 1,226 final site and 59 proposed sites. The 15 final sites include: Mountain Pine Pressure Treating Inc., Plainview, Ark.; Vasquez Boulevard and I-70, Denver, Colo.; Eastland Woolen Mill, Corinna, Maine; North Belmont PCE, North Belmont, N.C.; Emmell’s Septic Landfill, Galloway Township, N.J.; Martin Aaron Inc., Camden, N.J.; United States Avenue Burn, Gibbsboro, N.J.; Hudson Refinery, Cushing, Okla.; Vega Baja Solid Waste Disposal, Vega Baja, Puerto Rico; Hart Creosoting Co., Jasper, Texas; Kim-Stan Landfill, Selma, Va.; Former Nansemond Ordnance Depot, Suffolk, Va.; Hanlin-Allied-Olin, Moundsville, W.Va.; Alameda Naval Air Station, Alameda, Calif.; and Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Va. The 11 proposed to the NPL include: Iceland Coin Laundry Area Ground Water Plume, Vineland, N.J.; Lightman Drum Co., Winslow Township, N.J.; Fruit Avenue Plume, Albuquerque, N.M.; Basin Mining Area, Basin, Mont.; Upper Tenmile Creek Mining Area, Lewis and Clark County, Mont.; Old Wilmington Road Ground Water Contamination, Sadsburyville, Penn.; Garland Creosoting, Longview, Texas; Star Lake Canal, Port Neches, Texas; State Road 114 Ground Water Plume, Levelland, Texas; Jacobs Smelter, Stockton, Utah; and McGuire Air Force Base #1, Wrightstown, N.J.
