EPA Kicks Off "Energy Star Change a Light, Change the World" Campaign

(Washington, D.C. - Oct. 3, 2006) The Environmental Protection Agency is kicking off a two month campaign with a national call to action to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, one light at a time. If every American household changed a single light bulb to an Energy Star bulb, it would provide enough power to light more than 2.5 million homes, while saving consumers money.

WHO: EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson, Lynn Thomson, General Electric, Kent Knutson, the Home Depot and Mike Colotti, Osram Sylvania.

WHAT: Press event to kickoff a two month "Energy Star Change a Light, Change the World" campaign with a national call to action to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, one light at a time.
