EPA Annnounces Public Hearing on the Proposed Nonroad Diesel Rule

(06/06/03) Beginning on June 10, 2003, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will hold three public hearings on the proposed nonroad diesel announced on April 14, 2003. These new emission standards are for nonroad diesel engines used in construction, agricultural and industrial operations and would achieve a reduction in particulate matter and nitrogen oxide levels of more than 90 percent. This will significantly improve the air quality for Americans nationwide. The meeting will be held in the following locations:

Each hearing will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue as long as necessary to accommodate as many speakers as possible. All l interested individuals are invited to attend. Comments should focus on the 2003 proposal and will be limited to 10 minutes in length.
