NOTE TO CORRESPONDENTS: NEW TELEPHONE NUMBERS FOR EPA PRESS OFFICE

      SAN FRANCISCO -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's San Francisco Office has switched over to a new telephone system, requiring new phone numbers for the roughly 900 staff who work in the office.

     For media calls to the agency, following are the points of contacts and new phone numbers:

     Leo Kay, (415)947-4306, covers Northern and Central California

     Lisa Fasano, (415)947-4307, covers the Los Angeles Metropolitan area -- including Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside counties -- and Central California

     Wendy Chavez, (415)947-4248, covers Arizona, Nevada and the California border counties of San Diego and Imperial

     Mike Ardito, (415)942-3081, covers Hawaii, and Pacific Islands under U.S. jurisdiction, such as American Samoa and Guam
