EPA to Partner with Jacksonville on Green Infrastructure Projects; U.S. Postal Service to Dedicate “Go Green” Stamps

(Atlanta, Ga. – April 15, 2011) – During the Jacksonville Earth Day and Ecology Fair on Saturday, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will announce the City of Jacksonville selection as a key Green Infrastructure Community Partner. Jacksonville is one of 10 municipalities selected across the U.S. to help EPA demonstrate the role of green infrastructure in revitalizing communities while addressing wet weather issues that impair our nation’s waterways.

As part of the program, the U.S. Postal Service will dedicate the Go Green 2011 Social Awareness stamps. The sheet of Forever stamps features 16 actions anyone can take to make a positive impact on the environment. They will also encourage conservation. The Postal Service is a nationally recognized sustainability leader and innovator.
