PHILADELPHIA – Any school or recreation center in Philadelphia with an after-school environmental program could win an EPA “recycled” IBM computer by accumulating the most America Recycles pledges.

The contest celebrates America Recycles Day – November 15 – which promotes buying products made with recycled materials. The goal is ultimately to conserve resources for future generations. EPA hopes to make consumers aware of the importance of “buying recycled” and to emphasize the message that you’re not really recycling unless you also buy recycled products.

The school or rec center that sends in the most signed Recycle America pledge cards by Monday, November 13, will receive a recycled computer free-of-charge. The winning facility is responsible for picking up the computer at EPA’s Philadelphia office.

Pledge cards can be obtained at www.americarecyclesday.org.

The completed pledge cards are to be returned to:

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
1650 Arch Street
Philadelphia, Pa 19103
