EPA Awards $600,000 to the State of Texas

(Dallas, Texas – January 7, 2008) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $600,000 to the Texas Railroad Commission under the Underground Injection Control (UIC) program . The commission will use the funds to perform mechanical integrity tests on injection wells, and provide technical assistance to operators for the drilling, completion, and reporting of injection wells.
