Note to Correspondents - Toxic Wastes and Race Revisited

EPA issued the following statement in response to "Toxic Wastes and Race Revisited" by Center for Policy Alternatives, NAACP, and United Church of Christ Commission for Racial Justice:

"Although EPA has not had the opportunity to review the report, this Administration has understood the problems inherent in environmental justice from day one and made it a top priority. That is why this Clinton Administration issued the first-ever Executive Order to address the environmental justice problem, and why EPA and many other Departments have mustered their resources to try to reverse the growing numbers of people of color who are disproportionately threatened by pollution."
