What: Neighborhood community action efforts in the City of Philadelphia will get a $50,000 grant from EPA.

Nicetown neighbors and local community leaders
      Block captains, including some involved in the 26 Livable Neighborhood teams

Why: Currently there are 26 Livable Neighborhood Program Teams in eight areas of the City, including Nicetown; West Philadelphia; Germantown; North Philadelphia; West Oak Lane; Olney; South Philadelphia; and Haddington. Residents work as a team and take action in safety and health, greening and beautification, resource sharing, neighborhood building, and energy conservation funds from this grant will help in developing 10 additional teams.
