U.S. EPA SPONSORS RECYCLED PRODUCTS FAIR IN SAN FRANCISCO

     (San Francisco) -- Ever wonder what happens to those newspapers, glass, aluminum cans, and plastic you recycle each week?  Find out at the Green Fair on Tuesday, November 17, 1998 from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Phillip Burton Federal Building, 450 Golden Gate Ave., San Francisco.

     The Green Fair -- part of the America Recycles Day celebration -- will feature recycled office products and building materials, recharged toner cartridges, pencils made out of currency, biodegradable tableware made out of cornstarch, re-refined motor oil, teddy bears made out of textile scraps and much more. The event is free and open to the public.  

     Participants 18 and older who pledge to increase their purchases of recycled products can enter a random drawing to win "The American Green Dream House" valued at $200,000. The house is being given away as part of the second annual America Recycles Day celebration.

     The Green Fair is sponsored by the regional offices of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the General Services Administration 9, the city of San Francisco, the Materials for the Future Foundation, and the Recycled Paper Coalition.
