(10/20/05) Federal, state and local governments and non-profit organizations will participate in the seventh annual National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week October 23-29, 2005. This year's theme is "Put a Lid on Lead," emphasizing to parents and children the importance of preventing lead poisoning.

EPA is being a partner with other government agencies and organizations to highlight the importance of lead poisoning prevention. Events being held across the country include free blood-lead tests for children and opportunities for education and outreach to families such as health fairs and workshops on lead education and safety.
