EPA AWARDS $75,000 GRANT MONEY TO
PROMOTE ENERGY-EFFICIENT PRODUCTS

Dave Ryan 202-564-7827 / ryan.dave@epa.gov

As part of its efforts to support the President=s energy plan, EPA today announced
a grant to address national energy concerns. The plan calls for the United States to develop new technologies that promote energy efficiency and conservation. The grant awarded by EPA will be used to foster the use of energy-efficient products.

EPA awarded $75,000 to The Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) of Boston to develop initiatives designed to promote increased energy efficiency. CEE will use the grant to increase public awareness of high energy-efficiency products such as washing machines, refrigerators, lighting, air conditioners, heat pumps, and motors. CEE is a non-profit corporation that promotes the manufacture and purchase of energy-efficient products and services. CEE=s membership represents all regions of the United States, and includes utilities, statewide and regional energy efficiency administrators, environmental groups, research organizations and state energy offices.

For further technical information on the grant, contact Jim Sullivan of the Climate Protection Partnership Division at EPA at 202-564-2362.
