The coalition won an EPA Five Star Restoration Grant for its project, “Wildflower Storm.” Coalition President Larry O’Donnell will discuss the benefits of the restoration at the event.

The project involves planting native vegetation to act as a buffer strip and mitigate storm water runoff, constructing a small wetland to filter pollutants, and ten field trips to the site to foster youth participation. Coalition partners include Mid-America Regional Council, Adaptive Ecosystems, Inc., KC Wildlands, Friends of Lakeside Nature Center, Missouri Department of Conservation, Arrow Printing and Shrout Honda.
