WHITMAN TO OPEN CONFERENCE FOCUSING ON IMPROVING FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SERVICES

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Christie Whitman will give the keynote address tomorrow at a conference on improving federal government services.

Whitman will focus on key elements of President Bush’s government-wide Management Agenda to reform the manner of delivering government services by enhancing customer service.

The conference agenda will include recent advances in e-government, partnerships, the measurement of customer satisfaction and best practices in providing service.

The Bush Administration is dedicated to ensuring that the resources entrusted to the federal government are well managed and wisely used. The reforms would result in having government services market based and results oriented.

More than 300 federal, state, local and tribal government representatives will attend the fourth National Customer Service Conference. Numerous private sector organizations also will be represented.
