White House Conference on Childhood Development and Learning: What New Research on the Brain Tells Us about Our Children

Los Angeles medical experts will explore the latest research findings on early childhood development and discuss how this research can be applied in practical ways to help parents, pediatricians, elected officials, public agencies, and community groups strengthen Southern California families.

The Los Angeles forum is part of of the White House Conference on Early Childhood Development and Learning which will be broadcast via satellite to 58 sites in 30 states across the country.  The information will be brought directly to communities and local experts throughout the country to strengthen the national network of people and institutions that can take action on issues affecting the health of children.

Through the conference and local panel discussions, the White House, the medical community, and all of the participating agencies and institutions hope to enrich national thinking and policymaking on issues affecting our children and set the stage for critical dialogue and actions necessary to help our children to thrive.
