EPA to Observe Children’s Health Month in Jacksonville

(Atlanta, Ga. – Oct. 4, 2011) – On Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7-8, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 4 will kick-off its Children’s Health Month observance in Jacksonville by hosting a children’s health fair and environmental justice (EJ) showcase recognition event. School groups and families are invited to participate in free health and dental screenings, games, activities and presentations.

EPA will also host tours aboard its Ocean Survey Vessel Bold, a converted U.S. Navy T-AGOS class vessel. The Bold is EPA's only ocean and coastal monitoring vessel, and is equipped with state-of-the-art sampling, mapping, and analysis equipment.
