(12/11/03) EPA has launched a new partnership program called the Green Suppliers Network (GSN), formed by the Agency, the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program and the U.S. manufacturing industry. GSN will work with all levels of the manufacturing supply chain to achieve environmental and economic benefits by improving performance, minimizing waste generation and removing institutional roadblocks by leveraging a national network of manufacturing technical assistance resources. With GSN support, suppliers can continuously improve their products and processes, increase energy efficiency, identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resources and technologies with the aim of eliminating waste and improving environmental performance.
