EPA Administrator McCarthy Statement on the Passing of Mayor Menino

I knew and worked with Mayor Menino for many years. His leadership and love of the city of Boston will forever be remembered. His commitment to vibrant open spaces, to a clean Boston Harbor, to renewable energy and energy efficiency, and his climate adaptation efforts that keep our residents safe, our businesses open, and our lights on, transformed Boston into the amazing world-class city we have today. I am lucky to have called him a friend and to live in a neighborhood and city that was shaped by his vision.
