MONDAY: EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson, Congressional Black Caucus, Host Environmental Justice Tour in North Charleston

WHAT: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Administrator Lisa P. Jackson will travel to Charleston, SC with members of the Congressional Black Caucus (Congressman James E. Clyburn and Delegate Donna M. Christensen), as a part of the joint EPA-CBC tour to highlight the impact of environmental issues on underserved communities throughout the country.
          Administrator Jackson will visit Chicora Elementary School, to recognize Chicora for its participation in EPA’s outdoor monitoring for toxic air pollution initiative. Chicora is the only school in South Carolina to participate in this initiative. Administrator Jackson’s will also participate in a roundtable discussion of environmental justice issues with local environmental leaders.
