U.S. EPA Honors 2019 ENERGY STAR® Partners of the Year in Georgia

ATLANTA (April 9, 2019) – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy are honoring eight ENERGY STAR partners in Georgia for their outstanding contributions to public health and the environment. These enterprises have earned ENERGY STAR Awards for demonstrating national leadership in cost-saving energy efficient solutions. They are among the 183 ENERGY STAR Award Winners nationwide that will be honored in Washington, D.C., on April 11.

“I applaud the 2019 ENERGY STAR Award Winners,” said EPA Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation Bill Wehrum. “Their innovation and leadership enhance America’s economic competitiveness. Reducing costly energy waste improves air quality and public health while protecting the environment.”

“I congratulate our ENERGY STAR Partners of the Year for their leadership and commitment to taking action that will help us leave a healthier planet for future generations,” said EPA Acting Region 4 Administrator Mary S. Walker. “Additionally, their efforts demonstrate that energy efficiency is a smart business decision that supports their bottom line, and helps their customers save money and energy.”

For more than 25 years, EPA’s ENERGY STAR program has been America’s resource for saving energy and protecting the environment. Since 1992, ENERGY STAR and its partners helped save American families and businesses nearly 4 trillion kilowatt-hours of electricity and associated reductions of over 3 billion metric tons of greenhouse gases. In 2017 alone, ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans save $30 billion in energy costs.

2019 ENERGY STAR Award Winners in Georgia include:

Beazer Homes USA, Inc (Atlanta)          

In 2018, Beazer Homes, a large national home builder built more than 5,00 ENERGY STAR certified homes, for a cumulative total of more than 58,000 homes since joining the program. Beazer Homes continually demonstrates their commitment to energy efficiency, consistently educating consumers about the benefits of owning an ENERGY STAR certified home.

Burton Energy Group (Alpharetta)          

Burton Energy Group is a privately-held, independent company providing energy, water, and waste management services for businesses with multi-site, geographically diverse facilities. In 2018, Burton Energy Group helped corporate clients develop energy efficiency plans and reduce their operating costs.

Eaton Lighting Division (Peachtree City)            

As a leader in lighting manufacturing, Eaton has demonstrated outstanding dedication to ENERGY STAR by increasing available certified models by 420 percent, with a significant sales increase since 2017.

GDS Associates, Inc.

(Marietta)Home energy rating company, GDS Associates, certified nearly 1,000 new homes as ENERGY STAR in 2018. This was an increase of over 70 percent compared to 2017, bringing its all-time total to more than 9,000 homes certified.

Hoshizaki America, Inc. (Peachtree City)           

As a leader in the food service equipment manufacturing industry, Hoshizaki America, Inc. demonstrated impressive dedication to product innovation and sustainability, redesigning its refrigeration product lines to increase energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 42 percent.

Ivey Residential, LLC. (Evans)               

Ivey Residential, LLC. Is a home builder that has demonstrated ongoing dedication to the ENERGY STAR Certified Homes program by building more than 140 ENERGY STAR certified homes in 2018, for a total of more than 1,000 since joining the program. 

Servidyne, LLC (Atlanta)           

Servidyne provides sustainability consulting, including energy and water benchmarking, building audits, and waste assessments for the commercial and institutional building sector throughout North America. In 2018 the group demonstrated a sustained commitment to energy efficiency and continued to achieve deeper sustainability goals for its clients. 

Sustainable Investment Group, LLC (Atlanta)                 

Sustainable Investment Group (SIG) is a full-service consulting firm helping clients earn green building certifications by reducing their energy and water use since 2008. In 2018 the company offered comprehensive use of EPA’s ENERGY STAR tools and guidance and successfully integrated these resources across its program offerings.
