WASHINGTON – U.S. EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy will testify Tuesday, April 19 before the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on the FY 2017 Budget. EPA’s proposed budget will help ensure the agency carries out its mission to protect public health and the environment.

EPA is working with state, local, and tribal partners, as well as with business, industry, and other stakeholders to formulate commonsense policies that confront complex environmental problems while growing the nation’s economy. EPA aims to help build a sustainable future for all Americans through effective use of public resources. The proposed funding allows for important work to combat the impacts of climate change and deliver on the President’s Climate Action Plan. The budget will also help improve air quality, protect water quality, execute rigorous scientific research and ensure public safety from toxic chemicals.
