TODAY: EPA Administrator at the National Zoo for the Youth Summit on the Environment
WASHINGTON - On Monday, June 29, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy will deliver remarks at the National Zoo to high school students participating in George Mason University's Washington Youth Summit on the Environment program. Administrator McCarthy will speak about the Clean Water Rule, which ensures waters protected under the Clean Water Act are more precisely defined, more predictably determined, and easier for businesses and industry to understand.
The Washington Youth Summit on the Environment is an interactive program that provides high achieving high school students with an interest in environment, conservation and sustainability with a hands-on experience to explore careers in environmental science, conservation, policy, law and engineering. Students take an active role in the curriculum with behind-the-scenes explorations of facilities and laboratories at the Smithsonian and National Zoo, field visits, and activities with researchers and scientists.
