WASHINGTON, DC (April 6, 2015) - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) are honoring 128 organizations today for their commitment to saving energy and protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency achievements. Energy Star partners are contributing to the prevention of more than 3.5 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency improvements.

"This year's Energy Star Partner of the Year Award winners demonstrate leadership and innovation that help their customers, partners, and stakeholders save energy while remaining competitive in today's economy," said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy. "These partners are to be congratulated for their commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and protecting our climate."

The awards will be presented in Washington, DC, at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel on April 20th. EPA Administrator McCarthy and Jim Gibbons, Goodwill Industries International President and CEO, will provide keynote remarks.

"Energy Star partners help families, individuals, and businesses become more energy-efficient," said Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy David Danielson. "By offering energy-efficient products, services, and programs, this year's awardees continue to provide Americans with lower utility bills, new jobs, and fewer greenhouse gas emissions."

Organizations such as Habitat for Humanity are being recognized for a multitude of achievements including providing affordable housing to low-income families through energy efficiency where monthly utility bills average $78 for a 1,200-square-foot ENERGY STAR certified home.

Winners in the Greater Philadelphia area include PECO, PPL Electric in Allentown, North Penn School District in Lansdale, Liberty Property Trust in Malvern, Saint Gobain of Valley Forge, and Brandywine Realty Trust in Radnor.
