EPA Highlights Environmental Justice Innovation at Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge
DALLAS – (Nov. 16, 2016) This Friday, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will recognize Friends of the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge and Los Jardines Institute for their innovative work in environmental justice (EJ). The groups received an EPA environmental justice grant for their plan that will match refuge goals and missions with the needs of the community. The work supports EJ Plan 2020, which is EPA’s five-year plan for achieving environmental justice goals.
EPA Regional Administrator Ron Curry, refuge representatives, and environmental justice officials will speak at the event. Members of the media are invited to attend.
