EPA announces proposed early interim action cleanup plan for soils and indoor dust at Colorado Smelter site
EPA seeks public comments starting July 14th/ public meeting to be held on August 9th
Denver, Colo. (July 13, 2017) — EPA and the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment (CDPHE) are announcing the early interim action proposed plan for “Community Soils” (Operable Unit 1) and its availability for public review and comment. This plan summarizes clean up alternatives and presents a preferred alternative to address soil and indoor dust contamination at the Colorado Smelter Superfund site.
The 30-day public comment period starts Friday, July 14, 2017 and goes through Monday August 14, 2017. Written comments will be accepted anytime during the comment period, but must be postmarked by close of business August 14, 2017.
The proposed plan and supporting documents are available for review beginning July 14th at the following location:
