City of Topeka, EPA Region 7 to Announce Brownfield Funding, Plans for Riverfront Redevelopment Project

(Topeka, Kan., Oct. 25, 2017) – The city of Topeka and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 will hold a joint news conference Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, to recognize the city’s award of an EPA Brownfield Assessment Grant.
WHAT: News conference to announce EPA Brownfield Assessment Grant, followed by a site visit to one of many brownfield sites that the city plans to address with the funding as part of revitalization efforts in the Kansas riverfront area.
WHO: Topeka Interim City Manager Doug Gerber; Topeka Mayor Larry Wolgast; Brownfields Coordinator Seth Mettling, Kansas Department of Health and Environment; and EPA Region 7 Principal Deputy Regional Administrator Cathy Stepp.
